ADSL

It's Fast!
High-speed digital access to the Internet using your existing telephone line.
It's Flexible!
It does not affect your normal telephone line, so you can telephone/fax whilst online.
It's Always On!
No need to waste time obtaining a dial-up connection.

Telecom Maintenance is proud to announce the launch of ADSL2+ (Asymetric Digital Subscriber Line) the next generation modem-like technology that allows for the transmission of voice, video and data over existing copper telephone lines at megabit speeds. ADSL does not dial out to make a connection, the line is connected permanently for a fixed monthly fee and no phone call charges.

ADSL delivers bandwidth speeds that can be up to 834 times faster than a 28.8Kbps modem, 429 times faster than a 56Kbps modem, 186 times faster than ISDN and up to 12 times faster than a T1 connection.

The Telecom Maintenance, ADSL2+ service combines both speed and advance technology applications to produce an all in one package. Our ADSL2+ services include many added benefits like Front Page extension and business e-mail delivery packages using SMTP Mail Forwarding and unlimited e-mail addresses.

ADSL2+ is delivered by either a USB connection and a modem for stand alone PC's or most Ethernet and router for network connectivity.

Technically Explained

There are multiple advantages to using ADSL2+. For one, ADSL2+ will transcend the speeds of current data transmissions. Presently, ADSL2+ is capable of delivering downstream speeds of up-to 24Mb bursts and upstream speeds of 384Kb bursts. However, rates have the capability of increasing these speeds. In years to come, you can expect downstream speeds of up to 50Mb/second and upstream speeds as high as 2Mb/second.

No Dial-up connection, ADSL2+ builds high bandwidth into your existing phone line, and once you install your ADSL modem its always on. This eliminates the need to dial-up in order to establish a connection to the internet or to your corporate LAN.

Maximum utilisation of resources regular telephone services use about 1% of the actual capacity of the telephone lines. ADSL2+ picks up the slack, using the remaining 99% for high speed data-transfer. This is accomplished by setting different frequency channels for different functions, so that voice communication still happens at the lower end frequency spectrum, while the rest of the wire is used to carry higher frequency data transmissions.
